One of the first things that dog owners should know about is alpha male dog behavior. Before dogs ever became domesticated, they lived in the wild in packs. These packs were led and dominated by alpha dogs who called the shots. Even after dogs became fully domesticated, they carried the urge to establish themselves as alphas.

Your dog’s urge to exert dominance may not be good news for you. Once your dog believes that it is an alpha, it will try to dominate you and everyone else in the household.
